• Ustroń is a town located in the picaresque beech and spruce mountain slopes of Równica and Czantoria. It is situated in Beskid ¦l±ski on the Vistula River.
  
  The first reference to Ustroń appeared in 1305 in the salary register of Wrocław Bishops. At the beginning, it was a small village which belonged to the Silesian Dukes and from 1653 it was a property of the Habsburg Dynasty.
  
  At the end of the 17th century the army of King Jan Sobieski heading for Vienna marched through the settlement; to commemorate this event an oak was planted and grows until today at the crossroads of Daszyńskiego and ¦półdzielcza Street.
  
  In the second half of the 18th century iron ores were found and thus, in 1772, the first iron works was built in the Duchy of Cieszyn. From that moment on Ustroń developed as an industrial centre.
