Swinoujscie
- Świnoujście is located at the Świna River estuary to the Baltic Sea; the town is situated on 44 islands of which only three: Uznam, Wolin and Karsibór are populated. The following Szczecin-Świnoujście Seaports are placed in Świnoujście: commercial harbour (transshipments), passanger port (see ferries to Sweden and Denmark, hydrofoils to Szczecin), fishing and yacht harbours.
In 1170 and 1173, a small fortified settlements gurding the town were establieshed on both sides of the Świna River. They were destroyed during the Danish invasion in 1177 and rebuilt in the years 1181-1182.
In 1628, imperial army seized Świna River estuary and built fortifications which protected the access to the river from the side of the sea.
