Czeladz
- Czeladź is a town located in Śląskie Voivodeship (Province), southern Poland, in the centre of the Upper Silesian Industrial Area.
It was founded in the 13th century and is the oldest town of Będziny Poviat (second-level admin. unit).
In 1939 Czeladź was the westernmost point in Kieleckie Voivodeship. The border of voivodeship was located 1 km to the west from the bridge on the Brynica River - it changed into a narrow stripe of land of an independent Śląskie Voivodeship (which bordered on the Third Reich).
The feelings of anxiety and danger were present among the inhabitants as many events heralded the outbreak of the war. Military and administrative authorities purchased horses for military service. At schools, institutions and various working places air and antigas defense trainings were organized.
